Homework is an important part of your child's education. It reinforces many basic skills and concepts that were taught in class and helps your child develop responsibility to complete school assignments. Set aside a quiet time each night for your child to complete his/her assignments. You can help your child by providing the following supplies for use at home:

pencils, paper, erasers, glue, paste, scissors, crayons, markers, ruler, stapler, and a children's dictionary. When students are absent, you may request assignments that you can pick up in the office after school.

 

LAUSD has established the following time allotments for homework:

 

Kindergarten

Monday-Thursday  10 minutes per day

Grades 1 & 2 

Monday-Thursday  20 minutes per day

Grade 3

Monday-Thursday  30 minutes per day

Grade 4

Monday-Thursday  40 minutes per day

Grade 5

Monday-Thursday 50 minutes per day

 

The homework routine is very important for your child. Please help your child be a successful and responsible student.
