Building Effective Schools Together - Be Your "Best"

Two issues are constant challenges to effective education: academics and discipline. Students who learn to follow the rules enhance the learning process for themselves as well as for others. In addition, students learn to show respect for the rights, opinions, and property of others, which is an important step in their growth.

It is the conviction of our parents, teachers, and administrators that students will be responsible and successful at school if the following guidelines are followed:

  • Establish rules and specific directions that clearly define the limits of acceptable and unacceptable student behavior.

  • Teach students to consistently follow these rules and directions in order for them to be responsible throughout the school day and the school year.

  • Provide students with consistent positive encouragement and recognition when they follow the rules.

  • Make education a cooperative effort among teachers, students, parents, and administration.

The following Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible Discipline Code of Conduct is a collaborative effort by parents, teachers, and administrators. It is our belief that part of your child's development lies in the area of self-discipline and knowledge that school rules, adopted for the benefit of the majority, are to be recognized and obeyed by all. It is our belief that this kind of discipline is a forerunner to an adult's responsibility to recognize and obey our local and federal laws.

We ask that parents read and review all items with their children. We know that discussion of these items with your children will help them to achieve their best.

The school will notify parents when children are having difficulties in any of these areas. We look forward to parents cooperating with the school in promoting these responsibilities. This cooperation will result in a better school for everyone.
