The administrators, staff, and parents of Danube Avenue Elementary School strive to educate all students to become responsible, productive citizens in today’s society. We are committed to providing a quality environment in which all children can learn and develop to their maximum potential.  Parents, students, and teachers all have responsibilities to fulfill to enable us to attain our goals.

 

Teacher Responsibilities:

• I will teach all grade level skills and concepts from high quality curriculum utilizing highly qualified instruction in the classroom.

• I will assign homework which supports highly qualified classroom instruction.

• I will incorporate district and state standards in classroom lessons.

• I will strive to be aware of the individual needs of your child.

• I will evaluate work in a timely manner.

• I will regularly communicate with you regarding your child’s progress through e-mail, notes, phone calls, and parent-teacher conferences.

• I will do my best to provide a safe, healthy, and positive learning environment.

• I will provide opportunities for parents to observe and volunteer in the classroom.

Student Responsibilities:

• I will arrive at school on time every day unless I am ill.

• I will follow classroom and school rules.

• I will follow the dress code.

• I will turn in completed homework on time.

• I will put forth my best effort in all school subjects.

• I will participate in classroom and school activities.

• I will give my parents all communications sent home by the school.

• I will be responsible for my own behavior.

• I will spend time at home daily studying and reading.

Parent Responsibilities:

• I will support the school’s attendance, discipline, dress code, and homework policies.

• I will ensure my child arrives at school on time everyday.

• I will provide the necessary school materials for my child.

• I will provide a quiet place for my child to study.

• I will ensure my child gets an adequate night’s sleep and has a healthy diet.

• I will read with my child daily.

• I will encourage my child to complete his/her homework daily.

• I will review all school communication.

• I will attend school functions including Back to School, Open House, parent/teacher conferences, and whenever possible, other parent/school meetings.
